Katie & Michael have known each other a long time! They met in high school, but it wasn’t until a few years later that they managed to connect. They’re a classic “opposites attract” couple – Katie is highly organized, efficient, detail-oriented, while Michael is relaxed and mellow. When they’re together, they both instantly light up.

A recent wedding photo idea for couples who don’t want to see each other prior to the ceremony is to find a doorway that they can stand around, so they can hold hands and talk to each other, but not see each other. For most couples that I’ve encountered, this is about the photo op. But for Katie & Michael, photos were the last thing on their mind when they shared a moment before the ceremony. I’m sure of that because I really only happened upon this moment by chance – I didn’t know it was going to happen – neither did their photographer! I love that they wanted to do this for themselves, not because they thought it would make a nice photo.

Congratulations to Katie & Michael!

This film was shot by Nicki Dembski and me, Christina Montemurro, and edited by me.
